From Your Mod

I received several emails yesterday regarding an inappropriate image that was posted to the community. This was an unintentional mistake by the original poster caused by hotlinking.

For those of you who don't know, hotlinking is posting a media file that is hosted on another site's servers. This eats up bandwidth on their site, which they have to pay for. Many sites replace hotlinked images with disgusting pictures in order to discourage the practice.

To avoid hotlinking, download the graphic to your computer and upload it to an image hosting site, like Photobucket or Flickr, or to your LiveJournal ScrapBook.
